Air Cargo Challenge 2024
The Competition
The Air Cargo Challenge is an international competition with the objective of design, build and fly an small UAV to do cargo transportation. This year edition had place in Aachen in jully 2024. Here we are very proud to show you a litlle of our project.
The Main Goal
The 11th edition of the Air Cargo Challenge (ACC) had the main objective of building an UAV that can carry as many billiard balls as possible to simulate passangers. Besides that, the UAV should be the fastest and most efficient possible, wasting less energy per meter traveled.
The Team
The Final Product
For this Air Cargo Challenge edition the team worked very hard to get the best possible result. The final aircarft design converged on a 3.3 meters wing with 0.25 meters average chord, with the capability of taking 32 billiard balls and a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Using the best materials and manufacture processes we knew, the achieved product was very promising and the team was proud of all the work.
The Results
In the end, UBIAT representation in the ACC was very good. In a total of 1413 points our team achieved 980.3, getting a great third plance only 15 points behind the second place and achieving the second best flight in the all rounds we participated.
